Just 25 minutes east of Atlanta is something out of the ordinary – a national park rich in historical landscape. Arabia Mountain is located in Lithonia, GA and has 2200 acres of granite-swirled grounds and is home to many unique plants and animals. This terrain is also home to the rare and delicate bright-red diamorpha plant.
There is no formal trail, but it is easy to navigate. From the parking area, you will walk about 0.25 kilometers to get to the granite monadnock. There is an immensity of area to explore (30 miles of trials).You will notice the array of chiseled granite from when Arabia Mountain was home to a functioning quarry in the 1900s. You may even see historic ruins when humans used to settle there in the 19th century.
The beauty of Arabia Mountain is stunning and is a perfect way to relax in the midst of Atlanta congestion.
Numerous cairns and messages are displayed by the smaller rocks on the granite walkway. This is fantastic for walking, running, bicycling, yoga, walking, picnicking, or meditation.
You will feel zen, and is safe for solo travelers. This environment is fit for all skill levels of exercise. Take as little or as long as you would like to embrace this breathtaking landscape.
